Map of your destiny: what moles on the body, arms, face and legs mean

There are birthmarks on a child's body at birth - this is the result of a genetic predisposition. But sometimes moles can appear in adulthood. If the formation does not bother you and is not on the face, then, as a rule, people do not pay special attention to the mole.

Features of hanging moles

All moles can be divided into congenital and acquired, with the vast majority of pendulous structures belonging to the second type. The color characteristics of such a formation can vary widely - from light beige to dark brown. Moreover, regardless of the color and shape of the nevus, its formation is based on the mechanism of intracellular accumulation of the melanin pigment, which in the human body is responsible for the color of the skin, eyes and hair. If, due to any reason, there is an excessive accumulation of pigment in a certain epidermal zone, a mole is likely to appear in this place.

The appearance of a hanging mole in itself does not necessarily indicate the presence of any pathology in the patient’s body, since many people live with such benign formations without experiencing discomfort. However, most patients faced with hanging pigmented growths identify the following problems:

  • Aesthetic unattractiveness. If a hanging mole forms on an open area of the body, most often it becomes a serious cosmetic problem for its owner, since the appearance of such structures is not distinguished by beauty and attractiveness;
  • Possibility of malignant transformation. The probability of a hanging mole degenerating into an oncological formation, such as melanoma, is indeed somewhat higher than the same indicator for a flat pigmented structure, however, if the mole does not cause discomfort and does not increase, there is no need to sound the alarm.
  • Physical discomfort. Moles that protrude above the general level of the epidermis can easily rub against clothing, linen and accessories, which in turn can lead to itching, pain and discomfort.
  • Risk of injury to the structure. Mechanical damage or tearing off any mole carries the risk of developing cancerous manifestations, bleeding, inflammation and infection. Hanging moles are especially dangerous in this regard, since it is much easier to injure protruding tissue than a flat pigmented spot.

It should be understood that hanging moles do not mean epidermal neoplasms that have a long stalk. This type of nevi includes only protruding skin structures that have a relatively short base. However, sometimes hanging moles can consist of several lobes, which form some kind of “cauliflower”.

Localization of hanging moles

Unlike flat pigmented structures, which can be relatively evenly distributed throughout the human body, pendulous formations have places of favorite localization. Each area where such a mole is located has certain characteristics and carries some risks. Most often, hanging nevi form in the following epidermal zones:

  • Neck - localization of a hanging mole on an open area of the body, such as the neck, can cause not only aesthetic discomfort to the patient, but also have an increased risk of malignant degeneration, which is explained by frequent exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun. In addition, it should be noted that a nevus on the neck can be injured when wearing such a popular accessory as a chain;
  • Armpits - the danger of the axillary location of hanging moles is associated primarily with the risks of injury to the latter during the process of shaving this area, which, as statistics show, is resorted to by the majority of women and quite a lot of representatives of the stronger sex. Such damage is especially undesirable against the background of increased sweating, which is accompanied by a high probability of microbial contamination of the wound surface;
  • Back - this type of localization often becomes noticeable to the patient only from the words of loved ones, since small hanging flesh-colored moles may not be noticeable. Most often, nevi affect the shoulder area, which makes it difficult for women to wear underwear, and can also cause discomfort when carrying a bag on the shoulder;
  • Groin - hanging moles in the groin area, a fairly common and not very pleasant phenomenon due to frequent shaving of this area and the high risk of injury and infection during an active sexual life.

Forecast

Every year, melanoma is diagnosed in an average of 15 people out of every hundred thousand adults, approximately 3 patients die, and with a fairly stable mortality rate in the last quarter century, men began to die more often. Gender determines a lot in the prognosis of the disease, other things being equal, but young people experience the disease with less difficulty.

The probability of death with a late relapse is many times lower than with an early relapse. Early detection of progression promises better treatment results.

It is extremely difficult to predict the course of melanoma, because even a common process is not considered absolutely fatal; this malignant disease does not often live up to expectations. Don’t guess “to be or not to be”, contact specialists if you have problems, or better yet, before they appear - we will always help.

Causes of hanging moles on the body

Experts in the field of dermatology say that only three primary factors can cause the formation of a hanging nevus:

  1. Hormonal changes - any disruption in endocrine regulation (puberty, menopause, taking hormonal drugs) can lead to the formation of a benign structure. This phenomenon is especially painful for women who have developed hanging moles for the first time during pregnancy, but usually such fears for the health and development of the baby are not justified.
  2. Excessive exposure to sunlight - melanin is particularly sensitive to ultraviolet radiation, which can provoke the formation of both hanging and flat moles. That is why you should not overuse both natural tanning and visiting a solarium.
  3. Human papillomavirus. Papillomas, which are a consequence of the penetration of the HPV viral agent into the patient’s blood, are also quite often confused with hanging nevi, while some specialists prefer not to separate them at all, since these structures have a similar prognosis and therapy.

By eliminating the factors listed above, a person has the opportunity to prevent the appearance of hanging moles, however, the high prevalence of such formations suggests that this is quite difficult to achieve.

Frequency of occurrence

For any type and size of melanoma, the most common progression after surgery is metastases to other organs in almost 60% of patients.

The most dangerous period is the first three years after surgery, but in the first year, 60% are more likely to have metastases in regional lymph nodes. In stages 1 and 2, the incidence of lymph node involvement is low - every fifth person, and very rarely - less than 5% are affected by the postoperative scar.

Due to the development of relapses of the disease, only 60% of patients live longer than five years, but the disease can return after 15 years - in 7%, and after 25 years - in 10%. Every fifth person with an unimportant individual prognosis, however, does not experience a relapse in the next 5 years.

Why are hanging moles dangerous?

The main risk of any mole, including hanging ones, is the possibility of its transformation into skin cancer. If a hanging nevus does not cause discomfort and does not change its visual characteristics, most likely it is a benign structure, the degeneration of which into melanoma is unlikely. At the same time, the following manifestations are considered the first signs of malignant transformation:

  • Itching, pain, burning in the mole area;
  • A noticeable increase in size and change in the shape of the nevus;
  • Change in density and surface of the formation to the touch;
  • Color transformations of a hanging mole;
  • Bleeding and the appearance of ulcerations on its surface.

Having noticed any signs of transformation, it is necessary to contact a dermatologist or oncologist as soon as possible, who, based on a visual examination and diagnostic measures, will determine the level of danger and method of therapy.

Diagnostics

The examination is similar to the diagnosis of the primary process. A special feature of diagnosing progression is strict adherence to a schedule of regular examinations, which makes it possible to identify the process at the very beginning and before the appearance of clinical symptoms.

In European countries, it is recommended to visit an oncologist every 2 months during the first year after surgery, quarterly in the second year, and then be monitored without reducing intensity, since most often relapses occur in the first three years.

Early diagnosis of melanoma relapse is an objective reality today. In each clinical case, Euroonko clinics use an individual diagnostic search program, eliminating both the redundancy of the examination and its insufficiency.

Methods for removing hanging moles

Regardless of whether a mole is removed due to the risk of developing an oncological process or due to aesthetic discomfort, specialists practice several methods for eliminating such skin formations:

  • Surgical excision is important for large melanoma-dangerous hanging moles;
  • Laser correction is an effective, low-traumatic and safe method that does not leave marks on the body;
  • Electrocoagulation - a technique that allows you to take materials for a biopsy in order to determine the risk of cancer;
  • Cryodestruction is thermal destruction, which can cause the formation of scars and cicatrices, which significantly limits its use;
  • Radio wave surgery is a simple and gentle way to remove hanging warts without damaging the surrounding tissue.

Removal of a hanging wart in a modern clinic is a simple, quick and safe procedure that does not cause pain or discomfort due to the possibility of using local anesthesia.

What does the appearance of new marks mean?

The appearance of new spots must be taken seriously. If they appear, but do not grow, do not change in color, then it’s okay. And if they begin to grow and change color, then you need to be wary.

Neoplasms can develop into cancerous tumors.

If your mark predicts something that you don’t like in your destiny, you can find reasons to try to change your behavior and get rid of bad character traits.

The karmic meaning is embedded in the shape and color of the spots. Convex ones show what is laid down by fate.

Large, large ones can enhance their purpose. Thin and pale hint at upcoming changes.

If there is a whole constellation of spots on the body, then in front of you is the favorite of fate, living a bright, eventful life. If a child has a lot of marks, this is a good sign. Thus, fate protects from troubles, poverty, and meetings with bad people.
