Pink clay face mask, cosmetic Altai Origins – 7 factory-made and 3 homemade recipes

Clay has gained popularity among women, as masks based on it are really effective on the skin. Most modern manufacturers use this rock in their formulations, enriching the product with additional components of both natural and synthetic origin.

Next we will talk about pink clay, which is obtained by mixing kaolin with red rock. Unlike all other varieties, pink clay boasts not only a deep cleansing effect, but also an excellent calming effect.

Properties of pink clay and its benefits for the skin

Since the pink clay powder base contains kaolin and red clay, the resulting cosmetic product works with double strength. A natural component, the composition of which is enriched with silicon, magnesium, zinc and other useful microelements, normalizes the level of moisture in cells, relieves irritation, and also helps get rid of acne. Pink clay is used in cosmetology to solve various problems.

With regular use, the following improvements are noted:

  • pores are cleared of dirt and become less pronounced;
  • imperfections such as acne, comedones and blackheads are eliminated;
  • normal functioning of the sebaceous glands is established;
  • the amount of sebum decreases;
  • The sensitivity of the dermis is reduced, its integrity is restored;
  • peeling and redness disappear.

It has a fairly gentle and delicate effect, so it becomes an indispensable means of caring for dry sensitive skin prone to the development of allergies.

In addition to the above beneficial properties, pink clay also smoothes out facial wrinkles, evens out the texture of the skin and improves the overall complexion.

Why do my hair and scalp hurt?

Even if your hair begins to noticeably fall out, you should not immediately panic and assume that this is a consequence of some serious illness.

As a rule, hair problems begin due to frequent stressful situations, poor environment, unbalanced diet, hormonal imbalance in the body, various infections or too much enthusiasm for hair cosmetics, as well as various dyes or chemicals for curling or straightening.

With nervous exhaustion, overwork, and depression, hair becomes brittle and dry, and dandruff appears. Dryness is caused by decreased function of the sweat and sebaceous glands. Hair also becomes brittle and dry due to decreased levels of hormones in the blood and poor nutrition. Severe stress can affect the development of “focal” (“cluster”) baldness, when round-shaped areas devoid of hair appear on the skin.

Hair can also fall out in clumps when the body is intoxicated. But increased oiliness of hair is caused by the use of large amounts of fatty nourishing oils and masks.

Indications for use

It is worth noting that pink clay is suitable for all skin types. It is enough to add additional components to your home mask, taking into account the individual needs of the dermis, so that the finished product has maximum impact.

The powder is indicated in cases where:

These products are quite effective, and most importantly, the result is almost always noticeable after the first use.

The cost is suitable for any consumer - masks are presented in different price segments. Some products can be used not only for the skin of the face, they are also applied to the hair or body - clay promotes healthy skin, has a rejuvenating effect, and strengthens hair. Let's pay attention to some criteria that should be taken into account before purchasing.

  • Skin type.
    This is the main indicator when choosing clay. Those with dry skin should be especially careful, as masks have a drying effect. However, manufacturers supplement the composition with moisturizing and nourishing components to avoid tightness. It is possible to use different types of clay on different areas of the skin, for example, one type of clay is applied to the T-zone, and a mask with a more gentle effect is applied to drier and more sensitive areas.
  • Compound.
    It all depends on the needs of your skin. Does she need a combined effect or is a clay mask in its pure form sufficient?
  • Mode of application.
    Are you ready to create a mask with your own hands or is it more convenient for you when it is presented in finished form? Any option is suitable for home use, but for trips and trips it is better to purchase a ready-made product that you simply apply to the skin.
  • Packaging parameters
    . Please note that clay in powder form is additionally diluted with water. Therefore, the package will yield at least twice as much product ready for application. Manufacturers offer clay in packages of different sizes, some are convenient for use at home, while others will become indispensable travel companions. If the package is intended for more than one use, consider whether the printed product can be tightly sealed.
  • Manufacturer.
    Of course, it is better to contact trusted manufacturers and buy products in specialized stores. This way you can be sure that you have not purchased a fake, but a really good and effective product.

We hope our rating has expanded your knowledge about clay masks and you were able to choose the best product for your skin.

Homemade masks with pink clay

No less effective anti-wrinkle masks based on clay powder can be prepared at home using the beauty recipes below.

For dry skin

It is the dry type of epidermis that prematurely presents its owners with various unpleasant surprises in the form of premature wrinkles, nasolabial and eyebrow folds, the so-called “crow’s feet”. To prevent the advanced process of withering, it is necessary to sufficiently moisturize the cells of the dermis, preventing them from dehydration. To do this you will need clay powder and olive oil in equal quantities, as well as one chicken yolk.

Olive oil not only moisturizes and nourishes the skin, but also does not clog pores

All components are thoroughly mixed until a homogeneous consistency, after which the finished mass is applied to the surface of the face. Leave the mixture for 15-20 minutes.

For combination and normal

It is recommended to dilute cosmetic powder with purified water or use freshly prepared herbal infusions. For normal and combination skin, it is recommended to choose chamomile, St. John's wort, sage or coltsfoot. A tablespoon of herb is poured into a glass of boiling water, after which the cooled infusion is filtered using a sieve. The clay powder is poured with enough broth to obtain a homogeneous thick consistency of sour cream. Next, add a teaspoon of honey and a few drops of lemon juice. Keep the resulting mass for 15 minutes.

For oily skin

This face mask will help get rid of rashes and also give the skin the necessary matteness. Clay and rice flour are combined in equal quantities, then the components are poured with mineral water. Add a couple of drops of tea tree essential oil to the resulting mixture.

Apply the composition in a thick layer, avoiding the area around the eyes and lips. After 10-15 minutes, wash your face with plenty of water.

Clay hair masks, 10 recipes for clay hair masks

Clay hair masks are an excellent remedy for beauty and hair restoration. Hair clay is the main ingredient in most women's recipes and is essential for growing long, shiny hair. Clay has most of the benefits that can be applied to damaged and dry hair.

Homemade clay masks are very effective in solving many hair problems. Clay is famous for its nutritional properties, adds shine and volume to hair, strengthening it. In addition, it helps remove dandruff and prevents hair loss. It has excellent adsorbent properties and is able to gently exfoliate the stratum corneum of the skin, stimulating blood circulation and cleansing the skin, making it ideal for use on the scalp.

Clay is ideal for cleansing and detoxifying as it has the ability to remove positively charged (cationic) substances that can accumulate on the hair and scalp. In addition, clay has the ability to remove toxins, heavy metals, chemicals and impurities from the body.

What are the benefits of a clay mask for hair?

Clay masks have enormous beneficial properties; they are rich in microelements and minerals, which successfully cope with most scalp and hair problems. Clay masks nourish and strengthen the hair roots, and also have a positive effect on the hair follicles. In addition, clay masks normalize the functioning of the sebaceous glands, prevent hair loss and brittleness, and also give the hair good volume. Clay of any kind contains silicon, which regulates the production of skin oil, cleanses the skin of dirt, dust and impurities, and also strengthens hair follicles and stimulates hair growth. The clay also contains aluminum, which has drying properties, which is very important for oily hair types. In addition, clay contains substances such as manganese, sodium, iron, potassium, etc.; the predominance of all these minerals in the clay depends on the color scheme of a particular clay. The purpose and composition of clay depends on its type, let's look below at which type of hair clay is best to choose.

What type of clay to choose for a hair mask

There are different types of clay that have different purposes. Clay can be blue, gray, green, pink, red, white and yellow. You can choose any clay depending on your hair problem.

Green clay is the most effective among other types. Firstly, it is suitable for those who suffer from dandruff. Also, this clay is the best solution for oily hair. It can cleanse the scalp, soothe skin irritation and reduce sebum secretion. Green clay is rich in minerals, promotes proper metabolic balance and strengthens hair roots.

Blue clay is primarily intended for those who want to grow long hair. It prevents hair loss, reduces hair fragility and accelerates hair growth. Like green clay, it helps get rid of dandruff.

Gray clay is ideal for treating weak, split ends. It will give your hair shine and strength, revitalize and moisturize it. Gray clay is also good for promoting hair growth.

Pink clay - ideal for thin and fragile hair. Great for reducing hair dryness, improving elasticity and eliminating toxins.

Red clay – good for sensitive scalp. Soothes the scalp, increases blood circulation and fights dandruff.

White clay also has a positive effect on weak, thin and damaged hair. It can also be used to help soothe the scalp from the effects of dandruff and psoriasis.

Which clay is best for hair?

Blue clay for hair is the most healing of all types of clay. Blue clay is the best natural way to strengthen the hair follicle, thus effectively combating hair loss and preventing hair breakage. Due to its high content of silicon, aluminum, iron, calcium, magnesium and titanium dioxide, blue clay is a popular hair growth treatment. In addition, if you suffer from dandruff, a mask with blue clay will help you solve this problem. It will also help to successfully combat excessive hair loss, since reviews after its use demonstrate the strong healing effect of blue clay on hair. Moreover, blue clay deeply cleanses the hair.

How to make a clay hair mask

Making a clay hair mask is very easy, you just need to follow the instructions in the recipe. Homemade clay masks are good for stimulating hair growth and thickness.

  1. In order to prepare a hair mask, it is better to consider the amount of clay that will be enough to apply to the scalp and spread over the entire length of the hair. Powdered clay can be mixed with a herbal decoction; in this combination, the mask will be more effective and beneficial. I would recommend using a decoction of nettle or oak bark, and you can also rinse your hair with herbal decoctions after washing your hair or after using a mask.
  2. Don't add too much water to the powdered clay or the mixture will run down your face. As part of the mask, you can use egg yolk, lemon juice and vitamins A and E (available in pharmacies).
  3. Then gently rub the clay mixture into the scalp and leave for 20 - 30 minutes.
  4. Do not spread the mask over the entire length of your hair, as clay has a drying effect, so it will not do anything good for your hair length.
  5. After the mask, rinse it well with warm water (you can avoid using shampoo, since a clay mask perfectly cleanses your hair), then be sure to apply any balm or conditioner for your hair, otherwise it will be hard or very dry.
  6. Remember that rinsing your hair with tap water should be done gradually. Clay can leave behind powder particles in your hair, so you should wash your hair very thoroughly.
  7. Clay masks can be used once a week or twice a month depending on your hair problems. In any case, I do not recommend using clay hair masks very often.
  8. Never mix or store clay in metal containers, and when preparing the mask, do not stir the mixture with metal spoons.

Hair masks with clay, reviews

Marina, 28 years old

After reading reviews on the Internet about a miraculous hair product based on blue clay, I decided to add clay powder to the mask. The result of the application pleasantly surprised me. The hair was transformed, became soft and fluff (small hairs) appeared. I recommend blue clay to those who have problems with hair growth.

Snezhana, 32 years old

I had problems with dandruff, the terrible itching did not give me rest for several months. My hairdresser friend recommended clay masks to me; of course, I immediately bought green clay and in the evening I made a mask on the roots of my hair. I was pleased with the effect, there was less dandruff, the itching stopped, now I decided to make a clay mask once a week to treat dandruff.

Kira, 27 years old

But the clay mask didn’t suit me, I have dry hair, and after the blue clay mask it became like straw. But then a friend advised me to use pink clay instead of blue, and add warm sea buckthorn and olive oil to the mask, I decided to try it, just added another spoonful of honey. The mask washed off well, I liked the result, my hair became soft and smooth.

How to cook properly

In the process of preparing clay masks, it is important to adhere to certain rules so that the finished product has the most effective effect:

  1. Dilute the powder exclusively with distilled or filtered water. Never use regular tap water. You can also add freshly prepared herbal infusions or natural hydrolates.
  2. Mix the clay in a non-metallic container using plastic or glass mixing tools. When interacting with metal, the clay mixture oxidizes, as a result of which the applied mask will only harm your facial skin.
  3. Mix the ingredients thoroughly so that the finished mass has a uniform texture without any lumps.

Benefits of clay for hair

What is the secret of the clay composition, if it can have a beneficial effect not only on the skin, but also on the hair? One of the main effects of mineral dust is the ability to adsorb dirt accumulated on the hair as a result of exposure to the external environment and the natural secretion of the sebaceous glands of the head. Moreover, unlike artificial cosmetic compositions, clay does not clog the spaces between the keratin scales, due to which the hair structure retains the ability to “breathe”. Clay also promotes rapid regeneration of damaged hair structure due to the presence of silicon in its composition.

Additional beneficial properties of clay include:

  • Elimination of increased sebum secretion, a beneficial effect for skin damaged by yeast fungicides of the Pityrosporum ovale species, which provoke the appearance of seborrhea;
  • Natural adsorption of toxins by clay;
  • Clay acceleration of activation of the growth phase of hair follicles;
  • Moisturizing the scalp.

Cosmetic clay for making masks can be bought at any pharmacy. In order to achieve the desired result, it is recommended to use such compositions with clay no more than twice a week. However, it is important to choose the type of clay that suits you and your hair type.

Rules for applying masks

The product should be applied in this order:

  1. The prepared mixture is applied to previously cleansed facial skin. For the best effect, you must first steam your face by taking a hot bath.
  2. If you apply too thick a layer of product, then it is recommended to take a horizontal position during the procedure so that the mask does not stretch the skin.
  3. Try not to allow the applied composition to dry completely. Constantly irrigate your face with mineral water or the remains of a previously prepared herbal infusion.

During the application process, try to adhere to all massage lines. For convenience, use a cosmetic spatula or any wide brush.

Features of application

Before applying a clay mask, calculate exactly how much crushed clay you will need for hair of your length and volume. It is logical to assume that curls below the shoulder blades will require more product than shorter hair.

There are several unspoken rules on how to use clay to prepare a nourishing mask:

  • You should not apply clay to your hair dry. In order to make a mask with clay, you should dilute a small amount of powder in liquid (water or another component). The consistency of the mixture with clay should resemble thick sour cream and should stick to the spoon and not flow down. If you mix a mask with clay using water, it is better to take still mineral water, settled water or melted snow;
  • Some traditional healers recommend burdock or castor oil for mixing clay . However, the most useful option would be a herbal decoction of nettle, burdock roots, chamomile, mint or calamus. To make the clay mask have a pleasant aroma, you can add a couple of drops of essential oil to it;
  • The clay mask should be stirred in a ceramic, glass or wooden bowl. Plastic and metal are not suitable for this purpose;
  • When preparing a mask with clay, do not get carried away with adding additional ingredients. You should not show imagination and violate the recipe of the product, otherwise you can achieve an unpredictable result;
  • Before applying to the curls, the clay mask is heated for 3 – 5 minutes in a water bath. Do not overheat it so that the mixture does not bubble up. If you do overheat the clay composition, wait until it cools down to an acceptable temperature, and only then distribute it over the strands;
  • The total holding time of the mask should not exceed 40 - 60 minutes . Other sources indicate a period of half an hour. To determine the time period that suits you individually, we recommend starting with a short period of time (25 - 30 minutes) and, in the absence of side effects, gradually increasing the duration of the procedure to the permitted maximum. It cannot be exceeded, otherwise an allergic or undesirable chemical/thermal reaction may develop;
  • The effect of the mask will be more effective if, after application, you wrap your hair with film and insulate your head with a hat or cap;
  • It is better to wash clay from your hair with warm, but not hot water. After the procedure, you can rinse your curls again with an infusion of herbs or water acidified with lemon juice. Please note that it may take about 2 to 3 shampoos to completely rinse the product from your hair. Therefore, it is useful to moisturize the ends with a nourishing balm or conditioner afterward.

Please note that the standard duration of a course of clay-based therapeutic masks is at least 10 procedures . They can be repeated every 3 to 4 days. You should not use clay masks every day, as this will lead to dry scalp. This is also why clay compounds are applied to dirty, oily hair before washing.

There are basic recommendations for carrying out procedures using pink clay:

  • Apply the product only with clean hands on a previously cleansed face;
  • Instead of metal, it is better to use ceramic or glassware;
  • neither before nor after the procedure should you squeeze pimples to prevent re-infection;
