Verrucatsid, 1 piece, 2 g, solution for external use

Directions for use and doses

Externally. Apply exactly to the treated area with a special applicator or a small thin wooden stick, avoiding contact with adjacent areas and mucous membranes.

Small papillomas (up to 2 mm) and filiform warts: lubricate once.

Larger papillomas and small warts (2–3 mm): apply 3–4 times, taking breaks to allow the solution to dry.

Warts on the hands and soles: treat 7–10 times at intervals of 3–4 minutes.

Keratomas and dry calluses: treat 3-4 times with an interval of 3-4 minutes.

Before removing warts on the hands with a dense keratinized surface, plantar warts, keratomas and dry calluses, they are softened with keratolytic ointment (for example, salicylic), covering the lubricated area with compress paper or plastic film and, on top of them, with a gauze bandage. Possible sealing with adhesive tape. Then the bandage or plaster is removed, the skin is steamed in hot water with the addition of soap and soda for 10–15 minutes, and the horny layers are cut off with nail scissors or tongs. The drug is applied to dried skin several times at intervals of 3–4 minutes for drying.

If it is necessary to apply the drug repeatedly, in order to avoid burns to the surrounding skin, it is advisable to lubricate it with zinc paste. The paste is removed with a dry gauze swab after the last portion of the drug has dried.

Genital warts: removed in the treatment room (not recommended on your own), applying the drug to each element separately 1-2 times with an interval of 3-4 minutes.

Repeated treatment, if necessary, is carried out 6–8 days after the crust falls off. The procedure can be repeated 4–5 times.

Indications for therapy

Verrucacid often becomes the first choice drug for removing exclusively benign tumors from the surface of the skin and its deeper layers. They can quickly spread to healthy areas of the skin, significantly worsening not so much the physical as the psycho-emotional state of health. Especially when you consider that some tumor-like growths have a tendency to bleed and become malignant. The use of Verrucacid helps prevent self-infection during cosmetic and hygiene procedures. Doctors include it in the therapeutic regimens of patients with the following skin tumors:

  • papillomas - benign tumor-like skin formations of viral origin in the form of a papilla on a narrow base;
  • common, plantar, filamentous warts - a disease of viral etiology, characterized by the appearance on the skin of small round protruding growths of various localizations;
  • dry calluses - formations on the skin caused by prolonged friction or increased pressure, which look like seals with thickenings in the middle;
  • genital warts - viral warts, which are soft papillary formations on a stalk that tend to merge over time.

Verrucacid has also proven itself well in the fight against keratomas - age-related benign skin tumors that arise as a result of keratinization of the upper epidermal layers. It is usually used not to reduce single or multiple spots, but to eliminate plaques and nodes. After applying the solution, the top layers begin to peel off intensively, leveling the surface of the skin.

Precautionary measures

Avoid contact with healthy skin and mucous membranes (especially eyes). In case of contact with eyes, rinse them immediately with plenty of water and consult an ophthalmologist.

Do not bandage, tape or lubricate the treated areas with ointment, remove crusts, or reapply the drug before the specified time. It is necessary to ensure that the treated area dries in the air, to prevent its contact with clothing made of synthetic fabric, and not to wash it on the first day.

It is not recommended to apply Verrucacid to formations located in skin folds (inguinal folds, anal area, interdigital spaces, etc.) and heavily sweating areas, in order to avoid burns to unaffected skin.

If it is necessary to apply the drug repeatedly, in order to avoid burns to the surrounding skin, it is advisable to lubricate it with zinc paste. The paste is removed with a dry gauze swab after the last portion of Verrukacid has dried.

If the drug accidentally comes into contact with healthy skin, it is necessary to immediately, carefully, without rubbing, remove it from the skin, and then treat the affected areas with 10–40% ethyl alcohol or alcohol-containing liquids (lotion, cologne) and wash thoroughly with warm water and soap.

If a burn occurs, it is recommended to use anti-burn and healing agents.

Particular care should be taken when using the drug in children.

Release form and composition

Verrukacid is produced by the pharmaceutical company Retinoids in the form of a slightly viscous yellow solution with a specific, very pungent odor. It quickly penetrates tumors, exhibiting therapeutic effects within a few minutes. The domestic manufacturer packages it in dark glass bottles with a screw cap, equipped with a device for precise application of the drug. The secondary packaging for Verrukatsid is a cardboard box, inside of which there are instructions for use. The active composition is represented by the following components:

  • phenol;
  • metacresol.

The solution does not contain fatty ingredients; its auxiliary composition is formed only from ethyl alcohol and water, which explains its rapid penetration into tissues. Additional substances ensure the maximum possible absorption of active components into the skin. Ethyl alcohol enhances and prolongs their action, exhibiting its own therapeutic effects - drying, disinfecting, coagulating.

Beneficial effect of the drug Verrukacid

The action of the drug Verrukacid is based on the coagulation process. It leads to the following therapeutic effects:

  1. Necrotizing . Cauterization of papillomas with this agent causes necrosis of skin cells. The new growth shrinks, may be partially covered with a crust, after which the process of its death occurs along with the root.
  2. Cauterizing . This effect is important for combating those growths in which a capillary network is developed. It thromboses, preventing bleeding.
  3. Antiseptic . Thanks to this effect of Verrucacid against warts and papillomas, tissues in irritated areas are disinfected. This means that any infection cannot enter the body through the areas where the solution is used.
  4. Mummifying . After the cells die, the neoplasm is easily separated from the skin.
  5. Pain reliever . The drug owes this property to phenol, which, due to its ability to relieve pain, is even used in the preparation of aspirin.

Thanks to the drug, viruses in the tissues of papillomas die, which allows them to accelerate their regeneration. In addition, after Verrukacid, skin scarring does not occur at the sites of death of tumors.

Why you need to get rid of tumors

The content of the article

Moles, papillomas, polyps, warts and other neoplasms not only look unsightly, but also cause inconvenience - they become injured, bleed, become inflamed, hurt, grow and fester. Erosion of the cervix, which causes contact bleeding, heavy discharge and provokes inflammatory processes, is no less troublesome. But the most dangerous thing is the degeneration of these formations into cancer, so you need to get rid of pathological formations.

List of restrictions

Verrucacid is not prescribed by doctors to patients with hypersensitivity to its active substances or ethyl alcohol. The solution is prohibited for therapy in early childhood (up to seven years). The manufacturer has not conducted studies aimed at identifying the teratogenic and mutagenic effects of the drug. But since its active substances are metabolized in the skin, its use is permitted both during pregnancy and during breastfeeding. Treatment is carried out after assessing the benefits of the drug for the woman and the potential risks for the child.

Verrucacid is not intended for application to large areas of the skin. If neoplasms are localized in an area of more than 20 cm², then it is necessary to choose other drugs. It is prohibited to use it to remove moles, as well as tumor-like growths located on any mucous membranes and in the lip area.

Verrukacid also has relative contraindications. Doctors try not to prescribe it to patients with formations located in skin folds. Treatment of tumors in the groin, anorectal area, and interdigital areas is not recommended. Sweating is quite pronounced in these areas, which increases the likelihood of the solution getting into healthy areas of the skin and causing a chemical burn.

Contraindications and side effects of Verrucacid

The drug Verrukacid is intended for use by a wide range of patients. However, there are 4 groups of people who have contraindications for use.

You should refrain from treatment with the drug:

  • Children under 7 years old . This is due to the fact that the drug is toxic and can penetrate systems and organs and excite the nervous system.
  • Pregnant women . Due to the same toxicity, the product can harm the fetus.
  • Nursing mothers . There is a clarification here: women during lactation should not use the drug only on the chest and arms. In other parts of the body, the use of Verucacid is permitted, since it does not pass into breast milk. And the danger comes from direct contact of the product with the child, through the chest or hands.
  • For allergy sufferers . Verrucacid can cause allergic reactions. However, in people who are not predisposed to them, this process will not be burdened. While for those who are predisposed to allergies, it can cause severe complications.

Quite often, after Verrukacid, side effects from use are observed, which you should definitely familiarize yourself with:

  • Skin burns . In this case, you urgently need to blot off the excess drug with a cotton pad, rinse the burn thoroughly with warm water, and dry the epidermis. Then, for several days, you should use anti-burn medications, for example, Panthenol or Olazol.
  • Rash . Appears in places other than where the solution was used. This is evidence that you are allergic to this product. If it was not possible to remove the papilloma the first time, it is not recommended to re-use Verrukacid. Allergies are neutralized by antihistamines such as Cetrin, Suprastin and the use of antiallergic ointments at the site of the rash.
  • Redness of the eyelids . This is possible if the product was used in places close to the eyes. This side effect does not require special treatment. However, you should temporarily reduce visual activity, in particular, limit the use of contact lenses and the use of smartphones, laptops, and tablets. When going out into bright sunlight, snow or the beach, where there is glare from the water, be sure to wear sunglasses.

Note! It is strictly forbidden to treat papillomas on the mucous membranes with Verrucacid, as well as to lubricate moles and nevi. This can trigger their growth and degeneration into cancer.

Results of removal of papillomas and warts with Verrucacid

The photo shows the process of removing a plantar wart with Verrucacid

As the manufacturers note, when papillomas are removed with Verrucadid, a day after applying the drug, the area begins to dry out. After another couple of days, a crust forms, which disappears after 1-2 weeks. If after the mummification process the growth partially remains, the treatment procedure should be repeated according to the above instructions.

Verrucacid for warts and papillomas has many positive reviews, both from patients and doctors who use this remedy in their medical practice. If the instructions are strictly followed, it has a fairly mild effect, does not cause extensive burns, and does not contribute to tissue scarring.

The use of the drug is considered ineffective when there is a very strong concentration of the human papillomavirus in the blood, multiple concentrations of tumors and low immunity. In this case, doctors recommend starting the removal of papillomas not with skin therapy, but with blood treatment and boosting immunity.
