Lactulose is first hydrolyzed to fructose and galactose, and then to short-chain organic acids. This causes a decrease in the level of medium-chain acids, which have a toxic effect. In addition, lactulose is a nutritional and energy resource for bifidobacteria and lactobacilli. How to give Lactofiltrum to children
