And so that the filler does not collapse almost immediately after injection, the chains of HA molecules are subjected to such “cross-linking”. Such soft fillers are used to correct superficial shallow wrinkles, as well as increase lip volume.

The more connections there are, the greater the density of the filler and the lower its elasticity. How does Juvederm work?

The main component of Juvederm gel is hyaluronic acid, which is a natural polysaccharide in our body. Hyaluronic acid has the ability to bind and retain water at the injection site for a long time. Gel with hyaluronic acid is injected into the base of each wrinkle using a syringe, thus creating a depot of hyaluronic acid. On the one hand, such a depot acts as a lining material that smoothes out wrinkles, and on the other hand, the skin is intensively moisturized and improves its appearance.
