Various acne are frequent companions of a person throughout his life. The most annoying of them are blackheads, or comedones, which are formed due to clogging of pores with fatty secretions. Such acne can settle on the skin at any age, and fighting them takes a lot of time and effort. More often they give preference to folk remedies, which are effective but inexpensive. They use lotions, masks, scrubs made from herbs and products. But not everyone knows that oil against blackheads acts in such a way that there is no need for other remedies.
What are blackheads
Comedones or blackheads on the face appear on oily skin as a result of partial or complete blockage of the sebaceous glands. As a result, sebum cannot leave the ducts, and the pores expand and become dirty. Solving this problem will require regular procedures and a careful approach.
Due to their good penetrating ability, esters help cleanse pores.
It must be remembered that esters are not used in their pure form, as they are highly concentrated. Most often, masks and compresses are made with them.
This rule does not apply to lavender and tea tree oil. They can be used 1-2 drops, applied to a cotton swab to wipe the problem area.
Removing stubborn makeup (eyes and face)
Try making your own makeup remover with a natural composition. Take light bases (for example, rice and jojoba), hydrolat cornflower or rose water, cotton pads. Wet it with dischydrol and apply oil to it. Gently apply the disc to your closed eyelids, lips or face (depending on where you are removing makeup) for a minute to allow the makeup to begin to dissolve. Carefully, without stretching the skin, remove the disc. Take a new one and repeat the algorithm until the cosmetics are completely dissolved. This method is effective for removing stubborn mascara, lipstick, and heavy foundation. Finish removing makeup with a foaming cleanser (if necessary) and wiping with floral water (to further remove residue). Then apply skincare cream. You can do without hydrosol and moisten the disc with hot water. This enhances the solvent properties of the oil (depending on temperature). But there are no beneficial properties of hydrolates.
Essential oils and their uses
Any beauty salon offers many procedures for cleansing the skin of the face and its problem areas. However, not all of these procedures and products are effective against disturbing defects and are completely harmless to the skin, unlike ethers.
READ ALSO: What is perioral dermatitis
Essential oils are a mixture of odorous substances obtained mainly from the flowers and fruits of plants. The main thing is to initially identify the existing problem and select the necessary ethers to solve it.
Due to their cleansing and anti-inflammatory properties, the most effective in treating acne and blackheads are:
- Tea tree oil;
- Citrus;
- Rosemary;
- Sage;
- Ylang-ylang;
- Eucalyptus;
- Castor;
- Sandalwood.
To reduce oily skin, sage and lemon oils are suitable; to get rid of oily shine, use mint, cypress, and orange oils; tea tree, bergamot, grapefruit and rosemary will help to reduce sebum secretion and cleanse pores. To reduce inflammation and redness of the skin, use ylang-ylang and chamomile, and castor oil against comedones and acne. And to smooth the skin, take lemon and lavender.
One of the most effective esters is tea tree oil, which destroys blackheads and reduces oily skin. It has antiseptic and antimicrobial properties, and, in combination with base olive or jojoba, is also used for hair.
Castor oil, due to its antibacterial properties, reduces the number of acne and blackheads.
Ylang-ylang has a pleasant aroma, is rich in vitamins, makes the skin smooth, gently cleansing it. It has moisturizing and matting properties.
To make your skin healthy and glowing, you need to put in a lot of effort: select and purchase oils, make a mask. But all this is worth the effect that you will notice after just a week of treatment, subject to constant use.
Properties of fatty solutions
The herbal product can be applied to the face to remove blackheads. Cleaning clogged pores under the influence of a moisturizing element helps dissolve sebum accumulations.
Oils have a cleansing effect, removing impurities, smoothing fine wrinkles, and improving complexion by normalizing microcirculation of capillaries.
The product must be washed off. Prolonged presence of a fatty substance on the surface of the dermis clogs pores, promotes inflammation, and the formation of large blackheads.
Sunflower and olive
Olive and sunflower oils contain a large amount of fatty acids, minerals, and vitamins. Sunflower seed protects the face from the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation, simultaneously leveling the relief and increasing the tone of the skin.

Sunflower oil against blackheads has a drawback - the downside is comedogenicity, it is necessary to take breaks between procedures. Frequent use of sunflower extract leads to excessive production of sebum and enlarged pores.
Among the beneficial properties of olive oil are:
- restorative effect;
- prevention of premature aging of the dermis;
- removal of toxins due to the antioxidant polyphenol.
Vegetable oil does not dry out the skin and does not clog pores with new blackheads. A special feature of the extract is that it contains substances that protect against malignant tumors.
Almond
Almond extract normalizes sebum production. Vitamin complex A, E, F nourishes and moisturizes the stratum corneum, especially in combination with folic, pantothenic and linoleic acid. When applying oil as a cleanser for unsightly blackheads, you should use a small amount of the substance; excess clogs the pores and provokes inflammation.
Castor
Castor oil for the face against blackheads has a cleansing and antibacterial effect. The vitamin E included in the composition nourishes the skin, ricinoleic acid lightens age spots, evens out the complexion. For dissolving skin lipids and stimulating natural collagen, castor concentrate is an ideal remedy due to palm, linoleic and stearic acid in its composition.
Getting rid of inflamed blackheads is achieved by moisturizing the epidermis.
Other
Flax seed oil perfectly nourishes dry skin. Omega-3 and 6 fatty acids contained in the composition fight rashes and enhance the protective properties of the skin. Flaxseed extract is safe for use on all skin types with unsightly blackheads. Heating of the substance should be avoided; under the influence of elevated temperatures, an oxidation reaction occurs, the formation of pathogenic radicals - the risk of stroke, tumors, and the development of heart disease increases.
Burdock oil is a comedogenic agent and can be used as a cleansing agent for black pimples and spots when used in doses. The product is rich in vitamins, helps moisturize, relieve inflammation and smooth out fine wrinkles.
How to make masks from essential oils
When making masks, esters are not taken in their original form; they are added to base oils, a couple of drops per 1 tablespoon.

Cosmetologists advise choosing an oil that does not have a strong aroma as a base oil, it can be peach or almond. But olive and castor oils are used less often because of their rich aroma.
Esters help reduce sebum, fight clogged pores and add radiance to the face.
Suitable base oils:
- Jojoba (well moisturizes);
- Grape seeds (contains vitamins for growth);
- Almond (nutritional properties);
- Olive (rich in vitamins, perfectly nourishes the skin).
Essential oils suitable for reducing oil content:
- Grapefruit – rich in vitamins, reduces sebum secretion;
- Ylang-Ylang – reduces skin oiliness and inflammation;
- Tea tree – suitable for excessively oily skin.
To reduce oily skin on the face and clean out pores, you can use a cleansing mask with grapefruit oil.
It is rich in vitamins A, B, D, C and P, optimizes the functioning of the sebaceous glands, and normalizes the body's immune defense. They give the face a radiant appearance and reduce sebum secretion.
For the base, take 1 tablespoon of almond or olive oil and add 3-5 drops of grapefruit essential oil.
The product is applied to the skin and washed off after a couple of hours.
Cleansing with hydrophilic oil
In this case, a solubilizer is additionally added to the oil mixture.
Thanks to soft surfactants of natural origin, obtained from sugars, the oil is easier to wash off. Making such a product is simple. • Sasanqua 15 g • Rice 5 g • Organic solubilizer 2 g • Preservative Sharomix 7214 drops Mix the ingredients with a glass rod, shake the bottle before each use. If necessary, use the recipes for oil mixtures based on your skin type from those listed above, but exclude essential oils and extracts that can irritate the mucous membranes of the eyes. For other zones, you can use your imagination and enrich the composition with esters as desired. A suitable ready-made option for the delicate periorbital area would be a neutral hydrophilic oil. For the face, there are ready-made options for skin types: “Fragonia and grapefruit” for oily and combination skin and “Rosewood and chamomile” for dry and sensitive. For normal type, both options are suitable. Another emulsifier for creating hydrophilic oil is polysorbate (20 or 80). Take 10-20% polysorbate, mix with oil. Shake before use. Apply to dry skin, massage and rinse with water. The mixture will turn into liquid “milk” and can be easily washed off. Salicylic acid is added to hydrophilic oil with polysorbates to enhance the cleansing properties of comedones. The recipe is here. It can be used in the first method, with a warm towel. Cannot be used on the eyes. We recommend finishing cleansing with a foaming cleanser suitable for your eyelids and skin type to prevent excessive film formation and cause swelling. Remember to use light moisturizers, even if the skin seems quite softened after the procedure. Experiment with the wonderful world of aromacosmetology and create your own recipes - the results will not be long in coming. Recommended recipes Hydrophilic coffee oil for cleansing

Hello! Tell me, please, can I order a facial cleansing mixture for dry, delicate skin? And how much will it be?
Anna A. (Aromashka team)27/02/2022 (ID-34656)
Julia, hello! Of course it is possible. Leave your email and I will transfer the order to the master.
Oksana O.21/04/2020 (ID-24496)
Good afternoon, Aromashechka! Please tell me which oils are better to use to make a hydrofil for pores clogged with blackheads. The skin itself is dry, without tone, with redness in the nasolabial triangle, with beginning signs of aging (low estrogen has always been there). I made it with primrose and sea buckthorn, with safflower. The face is smooth, but the spots do not go away and the redness does not disappear. Thank you!
Anna A. (Aromashka team)21/04/2020 (ID-24501)
Oksana, hello! Try making it with castor oil. It works well on blackheads in cleansers. It is good to add black cumin/neem/tamanu. To work with redness, it is worth adding licorice CO2. But just a cleanser will not remove redness. It is important to understand the cause of redness, is it irritation or rosacea or another reason, etc.?
Marina S.09/01/2020 (ID-23048)
Hello. Tell.
Is it possible to use point 3 ( hydrophilic oil - as per your recipes ) instead of a cleanser? I don't wear makeup. You just need to wash your face in the morning and evening. Skin is sensitive. But the T zone is oily (especially the nose is oily + there are blackheads and pimples).
Or are there better cleansers? If so, which ones?
Anna A. (Aromashka team)09/01/2020 (ID-23074)
Marina, hello! You can use hydrophilic oils for washing. Remains of hydrophilic oil must be removed with a cotton pad with hydrosol or foam. Also, for sensitive skin, I highly recommend trying Sentio foams; they are very gentle, but at the same time effectively cleanse the skin.
Making cosmetics with oils
Steam baths
When treating problematic facial skin and blackheads, cleansing plays an important role. Baths with oils help to steam the skin and open the pores.
READ ALSO: Black dots floating before the eyes: causes and treatment
Add 1-2 drops of oil to a container with 1 liter of hot water and steam your face for about 15 minutes.
Suitable for this procedure:
- 5 drops of bergamot and 2 lemon;
- 2 drops of lemon balm, 2 – bergamot and 4 – grapefruit;
- 2 drops each of lemon, juniper and lemon balm.
After the procedure, you can use a scrub to enhance the effect.
Compresses
Warm compresses are great for opening and clearing pores.
Place a towel or napkin in a container with warm water and 2-3 drops of the selected oil. Place the towel on your face for a few minutes until it cools down.
Egg white mask
Beat the white of one egg until thick foam appears. Then add 5-6 drops of 1 of the following oils:
- Tea tree;
- Lemon;
- Juniper.
Apply the resulting product to the face in 2 layers and wait until it dries completely, then rinse with water.
Mask with kefir
Kefir helps tighten pores, remove oily shine and inflammation.
To prepare the mask, take 2 tablespoons of kefir and 5 drops of ether (tea tree, citrus, rosemary, etc.).
Procedure protocol
The skin should be free of makeup. Distribute a small amount along the massage lines of dry (not moistened with water) facial skin. Massage for a few minutes, take your time. Wet a terry towel with warm/hot, but not scalding, water, wring it out and apply as a compress to your face until it cools. The increased temperature will gently open the pores, the mixture will penetrate inside and dissolve impurities. Rinse the towel and repeat 2-3 times. For slower cooling, place a dry towel on top of a wet towel. Finally, wipe the skin several times with a clean, damp towel to remove any remaining oil. Wash with foam or ubtan if necessary. Rinse with cool water to “close” the pores. Complete the procedure by spraying hydrolate to normalize the pH. Do not neglect the subsequent application of the cream, this is important for maintaining the hydrolipid balance and avoiding the “parchment” effect with long-term use. If the skin remains red for a long time after the procedure, use less hot water next time. Warning Rosacea and rosacea are contraindications to this method of cleansing due to intense thermal and mechanical effects. For rosacea, you can try a warm towel and avoid friction (use only as a compress), complete cleansing with foam. If a negative reaction is observed, do not use the method. Give preference to ready-made hydrophilic oils (see below). Those with sensitive skin should be careful and also avoid high temperatures. At the slightest hint of a negative reaction, stop the process. Deep cleansing of the skin with oil is not included in the daily care program. The procedure should be carried out no more than once or twice a week.

Why do you need peeling to fight blackheads?
Acid peels provide deep cleansing of pores from comedones thanks to:
- Acids effectively remove accumulated horny scales from the surface of the skin and inside the sebaceous hair follicle. To do this, you need to choose peeling with fat-soluble acids.
- Acids dissolve sebaceous plugs (blackheads) and cleanse stretched pores.
The right exfoliation increases the effectiveness of home care in keeping pores clean, which prevents them from stretching and looking gaping.
